About Rosanne Jurriaans:
Rosanne is a Dutch animation artist, based in Utrecht, The Netherlands, working on animation and illustration projects. She made the choice to go into animation because of her love for drawing and painting. During her studies at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, she developed a way of making animation in a similar way to how she would make a painting. She likes to view every shot in a video or film as an image that can stand on its own and figure out how the visual style reflects the underlying meaning of the image. Because of that, she always felt an excitement to explore different techniques and skills, as to have as much tools as possible that she can use in her work. Alongside her 2D animation lessons, she started exploring 3D modeling, VR painting, video compositing and music production. To her, starting this collective after graduation was very important. She thinks that sharing a space and collaborating with other artists is one of the most valuable things to help her continue to learn and grow as an artist.
Artist Statement:
"I am fascinated with trying to visualize the invisible. Drawing inspiration from animals and other living beings, I like to imagine how they would view the world from a different perspective. I strive to visualize this in a way that feels dynamic and alive. Influenced by visionary art, surrealism and symbolism, my work usually portrays dream-like experiences of the world, the past, the present and the future."
